Mutual Funds

A Mutual Fund is a collection of investments — such as stocks, bonds and other funds — that's managed by a professional money manager on behalf of a group of investors.

Benefits of Mutual Funds

  • Higher potential returns. Mutual funds help diversify risk and may generate greater returns than most deposit accounts or other savings vehicles.
  • Easy access to your money. When you invest in a mutual fund, you can redeem part or all of your investment any time you need it.
  • Values-based options. Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) lets you make investment choices that reflect and support your values.
  • Professional management. With access to extensive market research and a solid understanding of the financial markets, professional managers have the know-how to make informed investment decisions.
  • Diversification. When you purchase mutual funds, you're investing in a wide array of companies and industries. You can also invest in different types of assets, such as equities, corporate and government bonds and cash reserves.
